Llywernog Lead and Silver Mine in Dyfyd
now has a 55 foot Howell's wheel on site awaiting restoration. The mine
originally had a wheel of the same dimensions as can be seen in this 1949
picture, taken before a local man blew it up. He was acclaimed a hero in
the Cardiganshire press for removing it !
